The School of Art and Engineering was founded in 1994, which has 6 specialized majors in Visual Communication Design and Production, Product Art Design, Advertising Design and Production, Character Image Design, Film and Television Animation Design, and Environmental Art Design, with more than 1200 students in campus. At present, the school has 55 teaching staff, including 6 professors and 10 associate professors. The proportion of double qualified teachers reaches 100%. It has 22 training rooms in the school, covering an area of 2000 square meters. In order to inherit and carry forward the traditional craftsman spirit and skills, the school has introduced and established Traditional Wood Art Master Studio. There are more than 30 cooperative enterprises outside the school. The film and television animation major cooperated with the National Animation Industrial Park to establish an animation industry college, realizing the deep integration of specialty and enterprise.

In recent years, the school has made great achievements in education and teaching. Students have won the first prize and the second prize in National Industrial Product Design and Rapid Prototyping Competition, the National Packaging Design Competition, the World Skills Competition Hairdressing Group National Finals, the world skills Competition Film and Animation Group Tianjin Regional Selection Competition and Interior Design Competition. The employment rate of graduates is among the best in art majors of higher vocational colleges, and graduates are widely praised by employers.
