The School of Packaging and Printing Engineering was established in 2003. In 2019, 4 majors of the college——Packaging Engineering Technology, Packaging Planning and Design, Printing Media Technology and Digital Graphic Information Technology. It had formed a professional group of packaging engineering technology and successfully selected into the“High-level Higher Vocational College and Professional Construction Plan with Chinese Characteristics” High-level school construction unit (Grade A) high-level professional group. The school and Tianjin University of Science and Technology jointly cultivated the undergraduate major of Packaging Engineering (Packaging Technology and Design). There are more than 1,000 students in the school.

The school has a vigorous, hard-working, and highly qualified teacher team. At present, 52% of full-time teachers have senior professional titles, 94% of teachers have doctor’s and master’s degrees. The school focuses on the cultivation of teachers' practical ability. 100% of professional teachers have double teacher quality; 3 teachers have won the honor of "Tianjin May 1st Labor Medal" Title, 1 teacher won the National Printing Outstanding Newcomer Award. The school has won the first place in the student group of the National Printing Industry Vocational Skills Competition for three years. In 2018, The school won the first place in the staff group of the Lithography Competition in the National Printing Competition and was named “National Technical Expert” Unit. Under the guidance of teachers, students have won more than 100 awards in provincial and ministerial level competitions in recent five years.

Through years of efforts, the School of Packaging and Printing Engineering has a great influence in China. At present, it is the vice chairman unit of the National Packaging Industry Directive Committee, the member unit of National Press and Publishing Industry Committee, the director unit of China Printing Technology Association, the vice president unit of Tianjin Printing Association, and the vice president unit of Tianjin Packaging Technology Association. Teachers have made remarkable achievements in scientific research, teaching, national teaching resource library, quality sharing courses, teaching material construction, etc. The integration of industry and education has established long-term and in-depth school enterprise cooperation with famous enterprises such as Tianjin Changrong Technology Group, Zhongrong Printing Technology Co., Ltd. Jinjia group, Tianjin Haishun Printing Packaging Co., Ltd. Beijing Yachang Culture Group, Shandong Luxin Tianyi Printing Co., Ltd. It has led the construction of Printing and Packaging Vocational Education Group, cultivate innovative talents, strengthen international exchange and cooperation and actively serve the national " Belt and Road" strategy.

The school has an advanced packaging and printing training center, packaging design training room, packaging and printing quality testing training room, digital graphic design training center, X-Rite Pantone International Certified Color Laboratory, etc. More than 30 training bases inside and outside the school provide students with systematic internships and training. The rate of obtaining "double certificates" of students reached 100%, and the employment rate has reached 96% for 10 consecutive years. Graduates from the school have been well received by employers.
