At 14:30 pm on June 17 (8:30 South Africa time), TJVI and DUT jointly held the "Integration • Innovation • Development"-South Africa Luban Workshop Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum online. Professor Liu Bin, President of TJVI, Professor Mthembu, President of DUT, and Professor Moyo, vice president of DUT attended the meeting. More than 150 teachers and students attended the meeting, including deans of School of Innovation, Entrepreneuracy and Development, School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and Automation, and School of Electronic Information Engineering.
President Liu Bin expressed his gratitude to President Mthembu of DUT and teachers and students for their strong support for the construction of Luban Workshop, and warmly congratulated the opening of the forum. President Liu Bin pointed out that the joint convening of the South Africa Luban Workshop Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum will open a new window for the innovation and entrepreneurship exchanges and cooperation between the teachers and students of the two schools, enhance mutual understanding, and will also open a new path for the healthy and sustainable development of the South Africa Luban Workshop.
President Mthembu of DUT said that the cooperation between DUT and TJVI has been very smooth. The two sides have maintained a close cooperative partnership for a long time. Meanwhile, she give thanks to the help of TJVI during the epidemic. The IoT technology application project and the additive manufacturing technology project are witnesses to the cooperation between the two schools. We look forward to taking this forum as an opportunity to deepen the further cooperation in innovation and entrepreneurship education between the two sides based on the Luban Workshop, and make improvements for China-South Africa cooperation and cultural exchanges.
Professor Moyo, Vice-Chancellor of Durban University of Technology, South Africa, was appointed Honorary Dean of the School of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Development of TJVI.
Professor Oludayo, Executive Dean of the School of Accounting and Informatics, Dr. Mtshali, Chief Information Officer, Professor Motaung, Director of Technology Transfer and Innovation, and Dr. Festus, Director of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, are appointed as mentors for innovation and entrepreneurship in TJVI.
Professor Wang Kun and Deputy Dean Liu Yuan of the School of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Development of TJVI, Professor Duan Wenyan, Head of IoT Technology of Luban Workshop, and Professor Shen Xingdong, Head of Additive Manufacturing Technology, are appointed as mentors for innovation and entrepreneurship of Durban University of Technology.
Professor Oludayo, Executive Director, School of Accounting and Informatics, Durban University of Technology, Dr Mtshali, Chief Information Officer, Professor Motaung, Director of Technology Transfer and Innovation and a biomedical scientist, Professor Wang Kun, Dean of the College of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Development, Professor Wang Haifeng, Senior Lecturer of the Internet of Things in Huawei Technology Co., Ltd., and Professor Wen Chengyu, Chinese Career Plane in Wanxue Education and Technology Co., Ltd., were give lectures of "Education" Fostering Technology of Pattern Through Collaborative Creation Paradigm, Advances in Telemedicine in the Modern Era Special lectures were given on the topics of "Transfer & Innovation at the Durban University of Technology", "Enabling the Ability of Competition, Building the Foundation of Curriculum, Building the Ecological Chain of Mass Innovation Education", "Integration, Innovation, Development", and "Promoting Teaching through Competition, Exploring New Ways of Talent Training".
After the lecture, the two sides discussed the innovation and entrepreneurship education of the two schools and the further development plan of Luban Workshop in South Africa.
The successful holding of this forum is a new attempt for the construction of Luban Workshop and a new mode of innovation and entrepreneurship education cooperation between the two schools, which lays a good foundation for the continuous construction of Luban Workshop in South Africa and the in-depth cooperation in the future.
